I am the main partner and manager of Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital and Spicewood Springs Cat Hospital in Austin. We are a group nine doctors dedicated to providing high-level veterinary medicine and excellent client service.
I earned my veterinary degree from the University of California Davis in 1997 and went on to complete a one-year internship at the University of Pennsylvania. I am board certified in Canine and Feline practice.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and passion for animal care in a variety of ways. I contribute regularly to Clinician's Brief Veterinary Journal and often speak at veterinary conferences across the country. Teaching has also been a rewarding part of my career; I’ve worked with veterinary students at Tufts Veterinary School and Texas A&M, helping to shape future veterinarians by teaching problem-based learning and ethics.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a career that I love, and that keeps me learning every day. I’m not exactly known for being quiet, so I relish every opportunity to share what I’ve learned—whether people are ready to hear it or not! For me, success isn’t just about professional accolades; it’s about finding balance and joy outside of work too.
When I’m not at the hospital, you can usually find me swimming in one of the fresh water Austin pools or hiking with my wife, Terry, and our kids, Emmet and Amira, and our family dogs. The cats prefer to stay home with the reptiles.
